We have a son with Down syndrome, and have decided to have him attend school with his typical peers as much as possible (rather than in a small-group class of only children with special needs.) Over the past two years, I've been following a blog entitled Think Inclusive. I appreciate what the author of the blog is doing to help build bridges of understanding from all sides of an often emotionally-charged issue. Here is the author's description from the blog itself:
"After nearly a decade working in special education and with people with disabilities, Tim Villegas has turned his passion for blogging and promoting ideas about inclusive schools and communities into his own website. He believes that Think Inclusive can create a bridge between educators, parents, and advocates (including self-advocates) to promote ideas, innovation and inspiration to change our world to be more accepting and value each and every human being."

Inclusion
"He drew a circle that shut me out
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout
But love and I had the wit to win;
We drew a circle that took him in."

Israeli and Palestinian Women
It makes me beyond happy that there are people in that conflict-torn area of the world, who won't give up striving for peace.
